Setting up of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs) Photographs of Pharmacies of British era displayed at

To meet the requirement of trained manpower in the growing pharmaceutical sector, the government set up the first NIPER
in 1998 at SAS Nagar in Mohali, Punjab. Since then six more NIPERs have been set up at Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur,
Hyderabad, Kolkata and Raebareli. Since its inception, more than 7814 students have passed out from these NIPERs, who are
working in the industry as well as R&D and academic intuitions. According to the 2023 National Institutional Ranking
Framework (NIRF) rankings issued by the Ministry of Education in India, the NIPER Hyderabad has achieved the top rank in
the 'Pharmacy' category. As part of academia-industry exchange, NIPERs have signed more than 263 MOUs with Industries
and other academic institutions, filed more than 376 patents (Granted more than 120 Patents)and published more than
6,903 research papers in various reputed journals so far.
