About the Scheme
The Scheme for "Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma MedTech sector (PRIP)" has been launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, with the goal of transforming India into a global powerhouse for R&D in the Pharma MedTech sector. The scheme has a total financial outlay of Rs 5000 crores, which includes Rs 700 crores to establish Centers of Excellence (CoEs) at seven National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPERs), and Rs 4250 crores to accelerate investments in the R&D ecosystem within the sector.

Lab to Market Transition (B-II)
- Pharma & MedTech companies
- Upto Rs 100 Cr/project or 35% of the project cost, whichever lesser
- Innovation Stages: Early-Stage Validation to Commercialization (TRL 5 to 9)

Emerging Innovators (B-III)
- MSMEs / Startups
- Upto ₹1 Cr/project
- Innovation Stages: Ideation to Proof of Concept Established (TRL 1 to 4)
